On the 19th of August, Mayor Jan Bonde accepted on behalf of the community an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) donated by the Lions Club of Forth Valley.
AED's are devices that can be used to save the life of someone suffering a heart attack. They are very simple to operate and do not require previous training or experience.
Lions Club of Forth Valley President Di Robb said "When this modern AED pack is opened, the device literally tells you what to do next, so anyone can operate it. It is an incredibly valuable life-saving tool for use in an emergency".
In accepting the AED, Mayor Bonde described the new AED as an important asset to residents in the Forth area.
The new AED is located in a clearly marked cabinet, next to the main entrance glass doors of the Forth Community Hall, 680 Main Rd Forth, and can be accessed at any time.
This is the second AED device donated by the Lions Club of Forth Valley and on behalf of the residents of the Central Coast the Council would like to thank the Lions of Forth Valley. This is just one of the many valuable contributions that they make to our community.
